Work in situ, 2010

When visiting France again this summer I dropped in to see a very good client of mine who moved to France eight years ago. I took with me another two pieces to add to her rapidly growing collection. While I was there I thought it would be a very good idea to take some pictures of the pieces she has acquired to put onto my blog when I returned home. It is always interesting to see how one's work has progressed and developed over a period of time.
So here goes:-

Two 'ground pieces' which have been
placed together. They seem to
relate well.

A 'leaf' form that I had forgotten
about. It looked good as a solitary
form placed on this slatted table
on the terrace.
Has given me some new ideas!

A tall pedestal piece standing in line with pots of tomatoes.
Rather interesting textures,

A 'bird bath' designed to be placed on the ground.
Now being used as planter for alpine plants.
Works well. My pieces can be functional or merely
aesthetic, I don't mind as long as they are enjoyed

A' bird bath' that I made
approximately 10 years ago.
It would be interesting to compare
it with the new one just
acquired.
The birds love it.

A swirling form that has been planted with
beautiful tiny bright blue flowers - a joy.
A very interesting visit. It is a garden on a mountain side consequently there is very little soil but when I was there it was completely covered by tiny wild cyclamen. The owners have made raised beds for plants and vegetables and have the most beautiful selection of trees. My work has found a lovely home. As intended, it does not dominate but echoes its surrounding environment.

Yesterday, once again, I drove through the pouring rain to Wisley to deliver and display the following two pieces. I placed them in the glasshouse amongst some aloe vera plants and they looked perfectly happy. A beautiful setting and very peaceful.
The rain is still pouring down.

OOps! Forgot to put details regarding the 'Art in the Garden 2011' exhibition at The Rococo Gardens at Painswick. It finishes on 31st August. Never mind.
